This is from the D & C dated Nov. 13, 1972: Buckman, Founder Of Dairy. Homer J. Buckman, 88, of 41 Walker Road, Greece, the founder of what now is Buckman's Dairy and Donut Shop at 2576 Ridge Road West, Greece, died yesterday in Long Pond Nursing Home. Mr. Buckman was a member of a pioneer Greece family. His father, the late George Buckman, owned greenhouses on Buckman Road, which was named after the family. In 1914, Mr. Buckman bought the only other milk business in the town. Because of illness he sold the business in 1931 to Robert Peters, now deceased. In 1950, the dairy was bought by Ralph DeStephano, its present owner. Mr. Buckman worked for DeStephano until he was 65. The barn that Mr. Buckman bought from his father is more than 100 years old and is the main building of the expanded dairy. Mr. Buckman was a member of the Greece Grange and Greece Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Alice, and a daughter, Miss Emeroy Clark [Buckman]. Homer Jay Buckman is the son of George A. Buckman and Lucy B. Griffen. George A.
