I have a trove of Buckman's items and am considering selling most of them if I end up moving in a few weeks. The Prize piece is the original ICE CREAM tin sign that was already on the roof when Ralph purchased the property (around 1950?) And was on the building until August 2006. I worked in the coffee bar/selling donuts after school in 1977-78. My name was Anne Cardinal then. Our tips were dimes and quarters and we had to share them between the 2 or 3 girls that worked the same shift. The donuts were good, but after working there - I couldn't eat donuts anymore - I think it was just overkill!....

worked as 2nd baker at Buckmans Dairy (1973-1977) Currentl plans are to recreate the "Old
Fashioned Donut" that was a great seller for
us.. Known as "The donut you thought Gramma made but didn't" Gordon Sweeting was probaly (in my mind) the one who really
got the Doughnut business going in the 60's
and was one task master when it came to the
quality of his products.. We would make on the average 1200 dozen doughtns daily and
on weekends up to 2000 dozen.. all by hand,
using no autmation as they do now a days.
